Synthesized basses and hybrid, electronic-organic percussion are the heart and main focus of the PTCHWRK project. Breaking away from orthodox methods of sound design and structure has helped the duo, composed of Alex Patricolo and Dan Perez (aka Dan Wolfz) to turn the heads of many in the bass and experimental dance music communities with the ultimate goal of inspiring audiences to create art in whatever form it takes.

After moving to the United States from Italy, Alex’s musical journey began listening to his uncle play blues guitar from an early age. He then started jamming to alternative rock with friends as he entered his adolescent years discovering bands like Linkin Park and the Gorillaz that blended his musical roots with a hip-hop style.  The search for new music during Soundcloud's early days in 2010 eventually led Alex to discover Dubstep through artists like Skrillex and Kill The Noise pushing him to jump headfirst into the world of electronic dance music until 2018 where his first experiments with music production began and moved to Florida.

For Dan, the journey was similar but a very different path.  In Columbia, he was first introduced to music singing in his mother’s church choir at the age of four years old.  Over the years he learned many instruments and went touring around South America with his mother’s rock band, Grako. He continued to develop a taste for new styles of music and entered the Music Conservatory of Bogota.  In 2018, he and his family left Columbia and moved to Florida where he soon crossed paths with Alex through their friends in the Miami electronic music community.

Up until the end of 2023, PTCHWRK was still a solo project started by Alex, where he had already begun to grow a fan-base on a national scale, while at the same time Dan was building his solo project. Both Alex and Dan individually were making their mark releasing music to the world while DJing in cities across California, Colorado, Florida, Ohio and Virginia in support of legends like G Jones, TOKiMONSTA, Netsky, Big Gigantic, EAZYBAKED, Elephant Heart, Daily Bread, G-Space, ION, TRUTH, Doctor P, DMVU, Toadface, Shlump, Ghengar, and more. It was then through the direct inspiration of the Pretty Lights performance at Hulaween, Alex and Dan decided to make their debut as a hybrid electronic duo project. In 2024, PTCHWRK embarked on their first tour in the Summer, performing in Baltimore and New York, as well as festival sets at Northern Nights in California and Badger Bass Camp in Colorado.

While PTCHWRK now primarily focuses on live music expression, they also perform as DJs, where those sets are curated with a spectrum of higher intensity dubstep, drum & bass, garage and house music all while featuring their own original music with selections from their producer circle, whereas their live sets focus on a more melodic approach featuring elements of jazz and liquid drum & bass, An enthusiasts for forward-thinking electronic music, PTCHWRK have traveled to major music events over the last decade to tune in to those who are extremely skilled in their craft of music production. Their greatest influences include Pretty Lights, Supertask, Resonant Language, IMANU, FORMER, The Caracal Project, Soudiere, and Tipper. You can listen to their music self-released across all major platforms, as well as label releases via spicy bois, TIMEWHEEL, SUM R&R and Collective Conscious Records.
