A young prodigy specializing in 3D Design and animation, Cortex has pushed himself to the forefront of the visual and electronic dance music communities as a force pushing pixels for figureheads and new up-and-coming artists in the scene. Coming from a background as a photographer, he began the project in 2020 as a way to further develop his knowledge and skills in the world of the visual arts.
After two years of honing his visual productions and consistently sharing his works to the Internet, Cortex was afforded opportunities to travel and perform his live with some greats in the scene, making state-wide debuts across the nation at Sol Fest with ION and Super Future, Submersion Festival, Nocturnal Funktion with Champagne Drip and Mantra Sounds, and Firelights Music & Arts Festival, as well as single-event performances with Chef Boyarbeatz in Baltimore, G-Space / Duffrey in Brooklyn, and Yoko at The Black Box in Denver, amongst others.
After having moved from his home-state of New Hampshire to St. Petersburg, FL towards the end of 2022, Cortex made proper moves performing with high-class acts on tours that rolled through his new city as well as throughout the state, including Tripp St., Chmura, Super Future, Thought Process, Mad Zach, Seppa, and more.Cortex knows what it takes to stand out and constantly push oneself to be a better artist. His style of design stems from his primary influences including DR01D VISUALS, Cullen Hassel, and Datagrama. Additionally, he has performed or collaborated on visual curations and projects with many other talented visual artists including Glass Crane, Papa Bear, and sinfromas.
Throughout 2023, Cortex only pushed the project to greater heights becoming the youngest visual artist to join a Tipper and Friends curation paired with Rhizomorphic, landing massive veteran performances at Firelights Festival with MYTHM and Submersion Festival with Resonant Language, debuting at more festivals like Sound Haven and Beyond Existence, and closing out the year at Of The Trees’s NYE event providing visuals for Lab Group and FLY.
Aside from curating visual experiences for some of the industry’s most talented acts, as well as established music festivals and events, Cortex’s future goal for the project is to host his own interactive art events that everyone can be a part of. You can find his designs and work through his public portfolio, Instagram profile, and as art shared by friends MeSo, Super Future, Josh Teed, Wreckno, Chmura, and OkayJake.
